Yoga is life-changing for people who practice it regularly. It changes the way people look at life.
One of my dearest friends, Natasha started yoga to lose weight. She started to find peace in her yoga sessions. It completely changed the way she looked at life. She was no longer trying to lose weight to look good for the other people. She started believing in self-care. Life was never the same for her. She started to realise the real goal of life is to connect with the higher self. In this big purpose, how you should feel about the opinion of others became very small.
This little true story unveils the essence of Yoga. Yoga is a beautiful way to feel good and look good in life. It also acts as a bridge to connect your physical self with your subconscious.
If you want to begin Yoga practice from tomorrow. I would like to share a few must-haves:
1.YOGA MAT: If you know, you will be doing yoga from tomorrow, the first item you need is a yoga mat. You would not want to do yoga on the hard marble floor and hurt yourself.
2.Yoga Wheel: I started yoga as a kid and it's been more than 20 years, I am into yoga practice. There are still a few asanas that are too complex for me. The reason is I was never aware of a prob like Yoga wheel can enhance my flexibility. Increasing flexibility can not only help you to perform the asana, but it is the best way to avoid injuries.
If you have never practised, Yoga wheel is highly recommended to you.
3.Yoga Blocks: This block is often used as an extension of the arms, but can also support the back, head and hips to help the body settle into a pose. It supports range of motion, thereby shortening the distance between you and the floor (“bringing the floor closer to you”). This is your other assistant to perform various complex asanas. Initially, you can start with placing it vertically for more support and then progressing with placing it horizontally.
4. Yoga Belt: Achieving a yoga pose is not solely enough to get a complete benefit. We should hold a pose for more than 30 seconds to see significant results quickly. Also, the right alignment and form is a must.
Using a yoga strap is a good way to get some self-help into your yoga practice. No matter what your level of experience is with yoga, a strap can provide useful help on support, alignment, and posture.
5.Water Bottle: No form of workout should be done without a water bottle. The workout time is one of the best time to consume water and keep yourself hydrated. It helps your body to fight fatigue and have longer yoga sessions.
